Aliens vs. Predator out this month

For those who remember AvP, there is a new version that comes out. I haven't heard too much on this game until this month. The multiplayer contains zombie mode(8 marines vs 1 alien at the beginning), team mode, king of the hill(8 marines vs 1 predator) and survivor co-op. There will be a demo that will be released and the game is set for release 2/16/10.

I will be checking this out without paying any attention to what any source says about the game. I enjoyed both the old games even if the multi was questionable at best. Very few game have ever set an atmosphere as well as these especially when you consider the state graphics compared to today. Besides, this is one of my favorite old scenarios. I still have the original Dark Horse series and the follow ups packed away in a dark corner somewhere.

Rebellion also re-released a new version of the original on Steam, with patched in multiplayer.

Later this year is Colonial Marines which is 4 person co-op.

Been looking forward to these two games for a while.

I have heard a lot about this game, and from the videos it looks real cool.

I am bothered by the fact that the developer says that the single player experience is short. 5 hours for each of the three races (Predators, Aliens, Marines). So for this game to have legs it needs to have a strong multiplayer experience.

We shall see.

well Angelo, let me put it this way: that's 15 hours of SP game.

Infestation mode: One person starts as the alien. Every time he kills a marine, that player becomes an alien. Last marine standing, wins. And then he dies.

Predator Hunt: Marines attempt to kill the predator without being killed out. The marine that does kill the predator becomes the predator.

Survival mode: 4 person co-op as marines against waves and waves of aliens.

Oh and deathmatch with all 3 races.

Having played he originals when they came out, Rebellion knows wtf about MP with this property. The Original games were awesome as hell and in some parts so scary I couldn't play them at night without all the lights on.
This is pretty much a definite buy for me.

I'm with Click. As long as they stick real close to the originals, this is a no brainer. The originals were mainstays of my LAN parties years after most people stopped playing them online. There is so much good time to be had Facehugging your friends into oblivion. I was super excited to see that this was coming.

Probably the only movie tie in game that I liked....though the developers were wise and not try to retell the Aliens film or Predator film.

I always felt the multi was horrendous. I forget if that was both of em or just one. I only tried it a handful of times that I recall and just remember crazy bad lag at all times. Never had a chance to try it at a LAN. Still, the SP experience was one of the best even to this day. I'm getting my hopes up...

The game seems to be pretty good. The lag isn't anything different than any other multiplayer game out there CoD, L4D..etc. The only complaint about the multiplayer is the aliens are really hard to get used to climbing on walls and ceilings and such and the browser seems to take a while to find a game(expect to sit on load screen for a minute to 2 minutes).

I think I might wait for the reviews to come in. I read the review in Game Informer magazine. It wasn't to flattering....repeatitive was the phrase that was used. They gave it a 5 out of 10. On another note, they gave Bad Company a 9.25 rating...saying it combined good multiplayer with a good single player experience.
